Darling

Darling

“Open them, please
I want to see the light
I want my eyes to feel the sun
To marvel at the sight
Of your nature

I won’t believe till I see
What lies beyond
The frames of misery”

I tried; to show her what
She herself had to strive a little
In order to see

Open them, Darling
Your eyes to breathe

But she sat there till
Her heart could take it
Poor darling of mine
Her worry wasted

For the windows were always open
But the blinds drawn.
